I was honored to be selected as one of five Indigenous students to participate in a cultural exchange trip to New Zealand. This unique opportunity, organized in collaboration with North Island College (British Columbia), immersing ourselves in the rich cultures of Māori communities and learning firsthand about their traditions, values, and histories.
This experience was transformative, not only deepening my understanding of other Indigenous cultures but also helping me explore my own identity and place within the global Indigenous community. Through shared stories, ceremonies, and community engagements, I developed new perspectives that continue to influence my personal growth and future work.
